I have been an artist/ illustrator for over twenty years and illustrated for numerous publications including newspapers and design campaigns. I've illustrated regularly for The Times, Daily Express, Daily Mail, Time magazine, an ad campaign for Smirnoff, Esso, a stamp for the Royal Mail and concepts for a product range for W.H.Smith. I'm now a represented artist and have exhibited at the Mall Galleries with the Society of Marine Artists and Institute of Oil Painters and recently won SAA Artist of the Year 09. I love ever aspect of the creative process and the evolution you go through, everyday I spend in my studio is a new journey.
I work mainly in Acrylics and I describe my style as, a backbone of strong drawing disguised with impressionistic brush marks. I combine contrasting flecks of colour, heavy textural paint and impressionistic brush strokes to bring greater depth and mood to each painting. My work ranges from Urbanscapes, Portraits and I am currently working on a series of Tree paintings and Landscapes. I am inspired by everyday images around me from a busy street scene, to leaves rustling in an empty park.
