I was born in Liverpool and now live and work just outside of Chester. I have always loved to draw and paint and create things. I naturally studied an Arts foundation in Liverpool and then, fashion and marketing BA Hons at North East London, graduating in 1988. I lived and worked in London and Manchester, enjoying a career in fashion buying and eventually moved back to the North West, where family life took over.
It is only within the past couple of years that with the help and support from my family that I have been fortunate enough to return to painting. My influences include Gustave Klimt, Egon Schiele, Mark Rothko and subconsciously, Marc Chagall. Living between the beautiful Cheshire hills and the dramatic mountains of North Wales, I am never short of inspiration. Also the form and texture found in the Northern industrial cities provides a constant source for composition. I am passionate about colour and pattern and look for it wherever I go.
