Over the last few months I have painted many tree, woodland, lakeside themed paintings. In particular I have enjoyed including Silver Birches in my artworks. The texture and the sheen are eye catching and the step into abstract seemed a natural process. This artwork is an abstract impression of a dense woodland, the sky blues are complimented by the silver highlights and the depth is intensified by the use of texture. Painted onto a quality canvas using a variety of tools and the very best acrylics. Sealed with acrylic varnish to seal and protect the surface. I've created art as long as I can remember, it's never far from my mind. I love colour and pattern and have spent most of my working life creating surface decoration for the home furnishings industry. However as we now live in a digital world the requirement to create and manipulate design on a computer has just taken away the joy and thrill of an ever changing journey that creating as you go allows.. I needed to break away and find a new way of creating, inventing and expressing the energy and passion designing once gave me. So for a couple of years or so I have been painting, it's the perfect way forward for me and wonderful to experiment with new mediums and subjects without restriction.
