Richard Storey
Richard studied art whilst completing a BA at Cambridge University. On graduating he started work in the commercial sector, with an advertising agency. He now works for Maurice and Charles Saatchi. Artistically, his focus is on drawing the figure from life. His work plays on dynamic approximations, using wandering lines, shimmering tone, drips and, most recently, movement to describe the human form dynamically. The viewer’s eye compensates for what is incomplete, indicative or indistinct, reassembling these suggestions into complete figures.
