About the artwork

The black parrot is endemic to Seychelles, residing chiefly in and around the World Heritage Site of The Vallee de Mai on the island of Praslin. I have painted this using photos I took of a group of parrots that came to feed in a jamalac tree at day break,at Cote d'Or , Praslin inFebruary 2019 . Each parrot has a unique whistle. My oldest son Jeremy as part of his remit as an environmental officer working in the Vallee de Mai was helping to ring hatchlings who are all named,he took this opportunity to name a particular bird 'Barnaby' after his younger brother. Watercolour painted on The Langton 140lb CP fine grain watercolour paper, using Winsor & Newton , and Schmincke watercolour paint. Painting size; 18'' x 13'' Paper size is 15'' x 19.5'' Comes with a vanilla mount, total size,51 cm x 63.50 cm. Certificate of Authenticity signed by myself accompanies each original.
