About the artwork
This is a large painting in Oils, the central focus in any room. The reds, oranges and yellows of the wave motions contrast with the pastel blues and pinks of the cloud formations. Atmospheric depth and the play on light give the feeling of entering beyond the clouds into the concept of light surrounded by colour. I used large brush strokes and pallet knives and worked with traditional colours. This piece is ready to hang.

Julie Bond is a full time artist living in Surrey UK. "Movement and the play of light on water, clouds, in fact all of nature inspire me. I use oils on canvas or board in a traditional way and use a renaissance palette as my base. I introduce new colours and use traditional fine art techniques with mixtures of more abstract, broad brush strokes to give life and vitality to my work. Portraiture and figurative art have been my foundation and my latest collections of oils are enjoying more of a free flow with the emphasis on contrasting light and depth.
