A low level close-up detail of the textures and golden colours of the ears of barley grains ripening in the early summer sunshine above La Roche-Guyon and overlooking the Epte Valley in Normandy, France. Although originally taken in 2011, this forms part of a wider series of barley and wheatfield images taken in June and July 2024 from both France and the United Kingdom. Printed by Kernow Fine Art in Cornwall, each print comes with a certificate of authenticity, signed and numbered on the front in pencil together with the image title. From a limited edition series of 5 prints which will be sent in a tube for safe and easy shipping via a tracked service from La Poste. First signs of an artistic calling appeared during family holidays on the North Norfolk coast in the 1970’s. In the mid 1980’s I went on to study Photography, Film & Television at Plymouth College of Art and Design which introduced me to the wonderful world of animation. The next 10 to 15 years were spent in various animation studios in Cardiff, Manchester and London working largely on children’s TV productions and half hour specials. To help complement my animation work between productions, I was able to continue my photography work thanks to commissions for travel brochures & hotels in Turkey & Northern Cyprus.
