These lapwing flying in formation are a beautiful sight in The Fens. I photoed this small flock at the beginning of January 2021 while walking in the fields near my home village. I love being under such a big expanse of sky with far horizons all around, maybe these birds are on their way to France or Iberia? The 100% pure cotton stretched canvas has been gesso primed and the painting lightly varnished with Winsor & Newton Picture Varnish. The sides are painted mid-blue and the work can be hung unframed. Picture hanging fittings are in place. Size;"20 x 16" 40.5 cm x 51 cm Painted using Winsor & Newton professional Oil Paints. Certificate of Authenticity signed by myself accompanies each original. Growing up in a small village in Cambridgeshire I spent long days walking and cycling out in the fields and lanes, always entranced by the fine detail of plants and insects as well as the distant horizons . Emigrating to Seychelles in 1983 I worked as a freelance artist as well as a farmer for 31 years..I had my first one-man expo of botanical work at Alliance Francais in 1985 followed by another in 1991. I participated in many other expos on the island and had an open studio on Mahe. I have also sold in Liberty's, London in 1986, at a Parallax Art Fair in Chelsea, London 2016 as well as in a Paris Gallery in the '90s I have been fortunate to have many patrons from various Arab State Royal Families as well as extensive sales worldwide, part...
