“In the Clear Blue Sky” is an ethereal abstract seascape oil painting 50 x 50cm (20 x 20 inches) on a 4cm (1.5 inch) deep canvas. Painted after spending time in Cornwall in and watching the sea on a sunny day. The title is from a Van Morrison song It's painted in shades of blue, metallic turquoise and white. The paint is layered and blended and textured in parts, the sides of the artwork are painted white and it is signed on the back. It’s ready to hang and comes with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. When I despatch a painting I always send a personalised card and a complimentary set of 3 hand made greetings cards as a thank you. Shipping is free in the UK and very quick, the painting should arrive within 48 hours of despatch. I am an abstract painter inspired by nature and music. The sea provides me with powerful inspiration and I am endlessly fascinated with the horizon and it's symbolism. I paint my abstract seascapes from memory rather than life and I want to evoke a sense of place however abstract the work becomes. My paintings are influenced by the British Coastline, particularly Sussex and Cornwall and I aim to express the timeless feeling of calm experienced when staring at the sea. Lately I have been concerned with minimalism in my work and have tried to capture a stillness that I have experienced during lockdown.
