About the artwork
I got the idea from a wildlife documentary that was following the story of a solitary Tiger trying to survive in the jungle wilds of Sumatra. There was one segment in the documentary where the Tiger was cooling down in a watering hole on a boiling hot day. There were monkeys feeding in a fruit tree and they were taunting the Tiger and throwing fruit at it. The Tiger was looking up longingly, hoping that one of the monkeys got too close but they were always just out of reach. The water was brackish black but you could only see this when the Tiger moved through it because the surface reflected the perfect blue of the bright sky.Monkey in a tree Taunting a Tiger

My name is Jim Carpenter and I’ve been a full-time, professional artist working out of my art studio in Buckinghamshire since 2016.
