About the artwork
Old Harry Rocks Aglow – Original Acrylic Painting Some sunsets whisper. This one roars. Old Harry Rocks Aglow is a radiant tribute to one of Dorset’s most iconic coastal landmarks, bathed in the fiery hues of twilight. The deep reds, shimmering golds, and glowing embers of the sky bring an undeniable warmth—one that lingers long after the sun has dipped below the horizon. The Inspiration Red and gold have such powerful energies, and sometimes, it’s wonderful to just let them run wild. This painting is a love letter to the breathtaking sunsets over Old Harry Rocks, a place that holds countless memories of long summer days spent basking in the coastal glow. The way the evening light ignites the sea and sky—it’s pure magic. The Creative Process Using high-quality acrylics on canvas, I built this piece layer by layer, using brushes, palette knives, and even unconventional tools to create a dynamic, textured surface. The result is an expressive, semi-abstract seascape where the sky, sea, and land blend in a dazzling, dreamlike display. Details & Dimensions Medium: Acrylic on canvas Unframed size: 20 × 20 cm (8 × 8 inches) Framed size: 24 × 24 cm (9.5 × 9.5 inches) Why Invest in This Piece? Born in Holland, I studied art in College but became a potter for 25 years before picking up the brush again. I feel I am mostly self taught through my love and enthusiasm of painting the world the way I want to see it. The beautiful country side of Dorset offers me unlimited potential to express my love for painting landscapes and seascapes and gives me the opportunity to work with many different colours. and styles. When I paint I find I can lose myself in each painting anew, large or small, and I hope they bring as much joy as I have found in painting them. I exhibit my paintings on various shows and craft markets, but you can also find me on the online galleries, which are doing a great job in helping the artist promote their work to... (see more)
