About The Artist

Clare Fowler-Potts

I am completely self taught and all my work is inspired by nature and wildlife.I live in the Orkney Islands so both of these are in abundance.I trained as an infants teacher when dinosaurs roamed the earth but only ever taught supply so I could still pursue my arty endeavours. A publishing company turned my paintings of various flora into greetings cards and since then my confidence has grown.I sold paintings on slates, pottery and small canvas' at craft fairs for many years and since living in Orkney my work is sold through craft shops/visitors' centre and my larger canvas through galleries and exhibitions on the Mainland(Orkney).I live in a peedie house with a very patient husband,a very fluffy dog and two comical chickens!
