Collage of wallpaper dating from the early 19th century to the 1920s. The paper has been coated on both sides and adhered to acid-free board using Golden Soft Gel Medium and protected with Golden UV varnish. The piece has been mounted in an acid-free oval mount. It is currently framed in ash wood that has been sustainably sourced. The frame can only be shipped within the UK – for international orders the collage is shipped in the mount only. I’m a mixed media artist from a small fishing village in the north of Scotland. I began as a professional photographer and wandered through other design roles. Now I enjoy expressive mark-making and a dash of photography. You’ll usually see me thinking about composition, playing with pattern and testing spatial relationships, that sort of thing. As for anything else I think about how it affects all the above. I enjoy looking for unlikely structures and trying out fleeting interractions. The question of balance is never far away.
