Studying at Kingsway college in design and technical studies which included sculpture, painting, printing, textiles and photography to name a few, Eraclis was inspired from views of city landscapes vistas from London’s Thames, where he was born. The paintings do not represent any particular city scape but aim for an abstract representation. Familiar building shapes or outlines are compared. Observe colour juxtapositions and colour layers producing a three dimensional perspective to the horizon. I don’t try to copy any particular city skyline but only use as reference to colour tones and values which changes according to artistic atheistic and juxtaposition of colours.
