About the artwork
This work uses a complex watercolor technique, conveying with amazing accuracy the translucency of the watermelon pulp and the texture of its rind. The flesh of the watermelon is depicted in dark red and bright pink tones, which conveys its juiciness and ripeness. These shades range from intense crimson to soft pink, adding depth and realism to the fruit's texture. Small white highlights are used to depict the glistening moisture and natural shine on the surface of the watermelon, enhancing the feeling of freshness and realism. The background is a mix of muted purples, blues and grays, creating a subtle neutral tone against which the bright colors of the watermelon stand out. The composition is both dynamic and eye-catching, making it the perfect addition to any kitchen, dining room or space where you want to evoke the joy and refreshment of summer. Bring home a “Summer Piece” and let it be a constant reminder of the simple joys and carefree moments that warm, sunny days bring. The work is inspired by the studies of E. Basanova. My name is Natasha Sokolnikova and I am an artist. I graduated from the School of Fine Arts “Alexei Sciusev”, Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) with the highest score and further The University of Humanitarian Knowledge. Now I live and work in Munich, Germany. One of my greatest strengths as an artist is the combination of classical education and my own vision of the surrounding world. I am a fan of travelling and it gives me chance to acknowledge with a widest range of different cultures. That experience also helps to understand art trends nowadays.
