Every summer I collect plums from a beautiful orchard to build up my winter store .This year the boughs were laden to breaking point..I painted this watercolour using my photos as reference as well as samples of the fruit from life..I love the natural grace of the trees and deep rich velvety colour and texture of the fruit. This watercolor is unmounted and unframed The painting has my signature on the front, along with the name of the flower Paper size is 41 cm x 30cm. About The Artist

Elizabeth Sadler

Apart from an 'A' level in Art, I am self-taught. I have painted throughout my life and it is a source of joy and constant exploration for me. The passion I feel for my work is expressed through my diverse subject matter and vibrant colours. Growing up in a small village in Cambridgeshire I spent long days walking and cycling out in the fields and lanes, observing the rural and rather wild world I inhabited. I graduated with an LLB honours Law degree in London, 1979-82, where I was able to spend time in galleries, attending expos, and enjoying the buzz of the city. Emigrating to Seychelles in 1983 I embarked on a career in art by default as the post I had been promised did not in fact exist! I had my first one-man expo of botanica... (see more)
