About The Artist

La Rosa

I am from the Nariño region of Colombia and grew up in the surroundings of the Andes mountains. I am strongly influenced by my experience of childhood and adolescence which was spent in a close community that holds a strong connection with the natural environment. My latest series called 'Richmond' explores the focus of life on progression and movement which provides insufficient space for our own authentic experience. The construction of contemporary lives can leave us feeling isolated and seeking for opportunities to reconnect but not being able to remember how. The Richmond series provides an insight into how our disintegrated experience is projected on to the park.
