About the artwork

This painting was from a sketch I did while on holiday on a boat. It was the edge of one of the little islands along the river. A very tranquil place. The painting has texture in the foreground depicting the grass verges. It makes the painting tactile by using a palette knife. It is framed in a simple white frame.

Maddalena Pacini

I am a Bristol based artist where I taught Art for many years. I was trained at the West of England College of Art.My work has sold in Italy, Germany and Australia. I am a representational painter and i use a variety of techniques to achieve depth, texture and a tactile quality. I like to create an air of mystery and atmosphere. i also like to leave my paintings with an ambiguity that the viewer can interpret in their own way. Making it more personal.
