About the artwork

Another painting based on the music of the Norwegian composer Grieg -" Morning" (Sunrise) from the Peer Gynt Suite. It was was painted as a small companion piece to Finlandia. Here the sun is rising over a typical Norwegian fjord.

About The Artist

Peter Dadswell

Art and music have always fascinated me and I have been involved with both for most of my life. I have drawn and painted from a very early age and have created a diverse range of artwork in watercolours, oils and acrylics including portraits, landscapes, cityscapes (such as the two featured in the profile photograph), nudes, narrative works, abstracts and semi-abstracts. In my professional career I worked with composers, songwriters and performers, so musicians and music, past and present, have inspired a large number of my paintings. Actors from stage and screen also feature in the portraits included in my portfolio.
