About the artwork
Painting: Oil on Canvas. The painting is about creation, the image of a new generation of children, the archetypal Star Child. This is an original oil painting on canvas. I started with a grisaille layer, a method of painting in grey monochrome, I then applied several layers of very fine oils and glazes to give an almost translucent finish.

Julie Bond
Julie Bond is a full time artist living in Surrey UK. "Movement and the play of light on water, clouds, in fact all of nature inspire me. I use oils on canvas or board in a traditional way and use a renaissance palette as my base. I introduce new colours and use traditional fine art techniques with mixtures of more abstract, broad brush strokes to give life and vitality to my work. Portraiture and figurative art have been my foundation and my latest collections of oils are enjoying more of a free flow with the emphasis on contrasting light and depth.
