About the artwork
Painted on canvas paper and used acrylic glazing medium so that it shines from within. Small but glowing with a radiant beauty. This is similar to the Translucent series. I'm happy to arrange for the picture to be framed before I ship it (see example). This would involve extra cost for framing and for shipping.
I think of myself as a storyteller as much as an artist. My concerns for the environment are reflected in my surreal and symbolic paintings. At the same time I experiment with techniques in the form of abstracts. I trained for two years at foundation level, doing life drawing and print and then I began a degree at Exeter Art College. After which I became a graphic designer during which time I did a lot of commercial art, usually illustrating everything from wildlife in a park, to steam trains, to cartoon characters. I was a nursing auxiliary at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I encounter all sorts of people who themselves are going on journeys. It fascinated me how they deatl with that journey.
