About the artwork
A one off watercolour painting of a beautiful Asian elephant. I have painted it in warm colours of pink, mauve, and warm browns and it look wonderful. Elephants are huge so I think a painting of an elephant needs to convey this, so I paint large. This would make a large statement piece for any room. I have photographed it in a frame, however the frame needs to be much larger with a wide mount of around 5-6 inches to do it justice. I have also photographed it in two different frames, so you can see just what a difference the framing makes to a painting. I live on the beautiful island of Jersey, Channel Islands and studied art in my youth. Unfortunately I had a life changing illness and have returned to my artwork with a new vigor. I find painting immensely fulfilling and soothing both physically and emotionally. Painting is a passion I love and is also extremely therapeutic. I love to express my art in watercolors as mistakes are hard to hide and I love the way the colors flow into each other. I am continually developing my style to keep my work interesting and inspiring. My inspiration comes from a variety of sources however I love painting animals using vibrant colours in a loose way.
