About the artwork

An one off original mixed media painting on canvas. This heavy textured mixed media artwork was inspired during a holiday in the Far East. Using various artist mediums and materials, pasting and sculpting paper onto the surface. This painting has been varnished for protection. It is painted on a gallery standard deep edge canvas, therefore it is not necessary to frame and it is ready to hang. Signed both front and back of painting. A certificate of authenticity signed and dated by the artist. Please Note: The corner of the back of the canvas was slightly stained when it arrived from factory. About The Artist

Jo Ellis

I was born in Hong Kong and moved to the UK in 1970. I have been travelling around the world ever since, living in New Zealand, Sudan, Tanzania, Pakistan, South Korea, Egypt and Bosnia & Herzegovina. I am now living in London with my family. I studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy in Hong Kong and Korea. I then studied art & design in London. I spent most of my life travelling and living in so many diverse places. This experience had had a strong influence on my outlook on life which i try to express in the different styles of my works. I have held solo exhibitions in Seoul, Cairo, Alexandria, Sarajevo, Florida and New York and also exhibited in London at The Mall Gallery, Alexander Llewellyn Gallery, Chelsea Old Town Ha...
