A nostalgic look back at jazz on 52nd street, Manhattan. Which, in its heyday in the mid-1930s and the late ‘40s,was the centre of the jazz world. Dozens of crowded basement clubs between Fifth and Seventh avenues played host to legends such as Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Miles Davies, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Prima, Harry Gibson…..and many more. By the late 1940s, the jazz scene began moving elsewhere around the city. By the 1960s, most of the legendary jazz clubs were gone. Today, the street is full of banks, shops, and department stores and shows little trace of its jazz history…………….! The

Thank you for your interest in my paintings I am a professional artist based in London. After graduating from art college many years ago, I went on a journey of exploring and experimenting with various mediums and styles of painting. My artistic influences have come mainly from the early impressionist movement of the 19th century. As an impressionist painter, I seek to combine the physicality of what I see with my own emotional response to the subjects that I paint, which are mainly figurative, cityscapes, Equestrian, and nostalgic art.
