A hint towards reality artwork: my emotional interpretation of the sea and sky just before a thunderstorm: the sea whips up, the dark clouds roll in and the seagulls take flight. Acrylic on canvas, in a high quality, gallery standard, white frame, ready to hang.
From 1982 to 1984 I studied A’ Level Art and History of Art in London, and from 1986 to 1987 I undertook an Art Foundation Course, also in London. In 2011, after moving to the coast, I felt inspired to paint again. In my “hint towards reality” work I try to capture the immensity and wildness of the sea and sky through feelings and emotions, and the weather, mood, colour, movement and light are constantly changing. So by using brushes, sponges and kitchen roll I blend acrylic paints together to produce light and dark tones and a sense of movement and space. And in my abstract pieces I have been experimenting with different techniques and various types of mixed media.
