About the artwork
This is a mixed media painting. It is produced mainly in acrylic paint. However, the paint has been applied over a textured surface to give a semi 3D effect and texture. The lines of the roots, branches and land surface often follow the underlying texture. This is an effect I often use on my larger canvas pieces. I thought I would try the effect on a smaller piece , that can be framed. I have shown some photos with lighting to emphasize the textured feel to this painting. The painting seems to change a little during the day with different lighting conditions. It is supplied in an ivory mount. The work is attached to the mount and sealed at the back with ivory card as a backboard. It is not supplied framed, although I have shown it in a frame in one of the photos, so you can see what it would look like. It takes a standard 16 x 20 inch frame that can be bought easily. This is being sold at a very fair and affordable price. I sometimes offer paintings at a lower price as an introduction to my work. I am an artist, living in SW England, who loves to paint bright bold colourful paintings. I work from my studio which looks out over trees and fields towards the Quantock Hills and Exmoor. My inspiration also comes from my own colourful garden too. My main focus is TREES and WILDFLOWER MEADOWS. I specialize in contemporary tree paintings, done in a range of styles. Some are very realistic and detailed, some impressionist dots, some focus on patterns and negative spaces between branches, some are restricted colour schemes and some can only be described as an explosion of colour.
