As a special favour from my friend Keith Collins, I was very privileged to be able to stay at Prospect Cottage, Dungeness (Derek Jarman's former getaway). I considered myself incredibly lucky to have very varied weather conditions, during my four day visit. This is one of a series of paintings about those different lights and moods created by the weather. This oil on board was painted intuitively, from my memories of dramatic skies, whilst looking out from the kitchen window. I live on the Kent coast and am a self taught artist, having always loved painting since childhood, I have been represented by several galleries and exhibited widely both in the UK and abroad .My designs have sold internationally as greetings cards, wrapping paper, stationary and mugs. Also my work has been published as fine art prints and sold in numerous galleries. I work in oils and aim to paint every day, if I go too long without painting I get very angsty.
