About the artwork

A beautiful painting of the largest wild cat,the Tiger,a fantastic, Majestic, beautiful wild cat, how can you not admire her. This painting of a mother and her cub, lazing on her favourite mossy rock,on the edge of the jungle, is a fairly large piece, 48" X 24",it looks great in any room. When I planned out this painting,I wanted the jungle background fairly dark, with, blacks and deep browns, dark greens, with a touch of light trying to shine through here and there, without over doing the details, but giving the viewer a sense of depth, and intensity of the jungle, hopefully I've achieved this. The colours,I feel really frame the Tigers, especially with the mossy rock which they are lazing on acting like a stage, putting these superb animals in the spotlight. The Tigers themselves, have been painted with many different shades of browns, reds, yellows, and countless combination's of these colours, with a great deal of layers, and finished off with delicate glazing, the final result being an animal you want to stroke. When I set out on this painting,I wanted to portray the mother, lazing, but alert to danger,I have her looking straight back at the viewer, accessing weather you are a danger or not,all this while her cub is messing around,as wild cubs do, I've used Windsor and Newton professional grade oils on a loxley gold gallery quality chunky canvas.all 4 sides have been painted,so No frame is required.the painting has been gloss varnished this deepens the colours really well, and protects the painting from dust and sunlight.the canvas has also been fitted with dust trap paper on the back, preventing a gathering of dust on the back of the canvas, the painting comes fitted with sawtooth hanging brackets.
