About the artwork

Underwater Oasis is an original and beautiful, one-of-a-kind statement piece that was created to express my love for water. I love to swim and even when I shower I feel as if the water provides a transcendent experience for the mind, body and spirit. It's my dream and goal in life to move to California where there's beautiful beaches nearby. I find that when you live in one place your whole life this can get boring and cultural conditioning can penetrate you more fiercely when you stay in the same place for too long. Even if it's just vacationing more. I want to travel the world and I think that I'm fascinated with underwater life is because there's no limits and the creatures that live there; are very free. Life is play and a dance for them (like when dolphins jump in the waves they just do this for the sheer joy of it) rather than doing everything with purpose in such a tight, serious way; we've forgotten the purpose is just to be. Be your best you by being fully present and alive in THIS moment. "Because making plans for the future is of use only to those who are fully capable of living in the present" - Alan Watts because if you spend your whole life trying to get the next "goodie" and the next "goodie" you'll have missed the whole point and feel like you have been cheated. Sure we have to pay bills but if you don't like what you're doing what's the point; the point and goal is to find a way to get paid for playing. Because “If you say that getting the money is the most important thing, you'll spend your life completely wasting your time. You'll be doing things you don't like doing in order to go on living, that is to go on doing thing you don't like doing, which is stupid.” Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way. And after all, if you do really like what you’re doing, it doesn’t matter what it is, you can eventually turn it – you could eventually become a master of it. It’s the only way to become a master of something, to be really with it. And then you’ll be able to get a good fee for whatever it is. So don’t worry too much. Somebody is interested in everything, anything you can be interested in, you will find others will. But it’s absolutely stupid to spend your time doing things you don’t like, in order to go on doing things you don’t like and to teach our children to follow in the same track." - Alan Watts The purpose of life is just to be a alive! To dance to sing to play to work but to work more as a play, just as the creatures under the sea do. This painting is an expressive example of an interaction underwater. Schools of fish move together gracefully gliding through the sea, swimming in the deep blue sea, where these fascinating creatures exist and play.. some that even look alien! It's also fascinating that we know more about Mars than we know about what's in the sea and that 71% of our planet is water; lots of the ocean is undiscovered territory and the ocean holds about 97% of the earths water!
