About the artwork

Vivid study of Sunflower Fields with village of Pals, Spain in the background. I simply love painting sunflowers - fields or in my studio in a vase. They all have their attractions and I never tire of them. These are painted in pastels which I find very sympathetic to them as the bright pigments start to do them justice. I was passing this field with the background showing the Spanish village and I had to do quick sketches and take photos much to the amusement of a nearby farmer. He let me in his field and I was as happy as a sandboy among these smiling sunflowers. It is interesting the sunflowers follow the sun hence their name. This painting is framed in a silver frame with a wide white mount
