About the artwork

Curvaceous, full figured, voluptuous and indeed beautiful, Alexandra is truly a Rubenesque Dancer... A term derived from one of my favourite Old Master Artists - Peter Paul Rubens. Produced in cooperation with dancer Alexandra Beller (Thanks Alexandra) Painted entirely with a knife. A high level of contrast is provided and the colours made extremely rich, bold and lustrous, thus creating a very contemporary feel overall. It's a large, very dramatic, passionate, emotive, moody and atmospheric figurative dance painting that would not look out of place as a feature in a lounge, study, office, music room, conservatory, bedroom, hall, landing or similar room and be a focal point to be proud of.

Biography: I am a self-taught, full time professional Artist, born in Yorkshire, in 1961, and now based in Wokingham, Berkshire, UK where I have my office and studio. Though I have always had a flair for art, I graduated in engineering in 1983 and with a passion to travel, I initially pursued a career as an engineering and design consultant, holding various managerial roles with international design consulting companies, residing primarily in the Middle East. Nevertheless, an artisan at heart, I returned to Commercial Art in 2003, initially as a semi-professional artist.
