Spotting a niche

In 2006, Hampshire-based artist Michelle Gibbs saw that there was a gap in the market when it came to promoting and selling original art at accessible prices. Her solution was to set up Art2Arts to sell her own work, but soon Michelle realised that there were lots of other artists out there who deserved an online forum, as well as an art-loving public that deserved good works at democratised prices.

Michelle and Art2Arts welcome enquiries from journalists in all media on:

• all and any of the artists featured in the gallery;
• opinions and advice on the world of modern art;
• how good-quality, original art should be available to everyone;
• how to spot up-and-coming artists;
• how to invest in original art;
• how to look after artworks, and
• how the artists are chosen to appear on Art2Arts.

All the artists are handpicked

All of the artists who feature on Art2Arts have been through a rigorous selection process.

Up to now, more than 750 artists have been given a showcase and people looking to buy original artwork have been able to choose from more than 10,000 pieces. Art2Arts has also been featured in Ideal Home, newhomes, and Art Today magazines amongst other publications.

Cutting the cost of the middleman

One subject very close to Michelle’s heart is making original art affordable to everyone. Lots of people want to collect and invest in original artworks but often find the gallery fees prohibitive, so by providing both artist and customer with an online gallery, Art2Arts is keeping down overheads and bringing artist and collector together for less.

Art2Arts uses the Arts Council England's Own Art interest-free loan scheme

This scheme offers collectors the chance to spread the cost of their investment over a ten-month period with an interest-free loan of up to £2,500 (subject to status).
