The medieval village of Dunster is in West Somerset within the Exmoor National Park. It was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Torre meaning ‘The Rocky Hill’ from the British word ‘tor’. This painting features Dunster Castle and the Old Yarn Market in the middle of the High Street. This painting is on a narrow canvas with painted sides and is ready to hang or can be framed.
I am a Cornish artist who has spent many years developing my distinctive style so that today, my work is instantly recognisable. Being self-taught has been advantageous - my style has not been moulded but has evolved. It has not been influenced by the work of others but has become uniquely my own by the processes of practice, development, persistence, trial and error. A lot of the inspiration for my work comes from the photographs that I take whilst out kayaking and walking along the coast and rivers of this beautiful County. I portray what I see with innocence and simplicity, using the vibrant colours of acrylic paint to create my view of the world
