Description

A deeply 3D textured modern abstract sunset seascape painting. Painted in black, chocolate, copper, bronze and gold tones and highlighted with light reflecting metallic and shimmering pigments,creating a dramatic and changing effect in different light sources. Painted using acrylic and mixed media on stretched deep edged canvas and finished with 2 coats of gloss varnish. I sign and title my paintings on the back and initial on the front. About The Artist

Sharon Deegan

I am a full time artist based in West London beside the River Thames. I create highly textured abstract pieces on canvas with shining metallic embellishment. My inspiration comes from many things but mostly from the natural world, the fury of the sea, the calm reflections of water, the delicacy of a summer bloom and the beauty of the underwater world. I love textures and surface interest and tactile, textile inspired artwork. Recurring themes in much of my work are flowing images, I like the idea of movement and that nothing stands still and is always changing. Metallic paints and iridescent paints are used in most of my work; again there is the idea of constant change as the metallics in the paintings look different in daylight or elect... (see more)
