Hester Coetzee: 28 January 1948 - 11 June 2020.
Hester was a self-taught artist with an attitude of gratitude for who painting was passion.
Her vibrant colours and bold brush strokes, reflects her outgoing personality. Her inspiration was creation itself, with a specific admiration for trees and flowers.
She had been very successful since she joined Art2Arts and was until her passing one of the best sellers. During the past 8 years, she had painted more than 1400 paintings and sold 1300 of them .... indeed, a very successful artist! Her paintings still sell worldwide.
After 40 years of teaching, she retired to be a full-time artist to allow for her paintings to bring joy and to make a difference to other people’s lives. For Hester, life was not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
A quote by Hester: "Art is colours and melodies and chisels and pallets - to make beauty and goodness. Art gives joy, peace, fulfilment and can transform you into a beautiful person. It makes you thrive and expands your horizons. Art knows no language; anyone in the whole world can understand it. Art has no limits and gives you the urge to explore and create."
