The Hole of Horcum is a stunning natural feature in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors. This painting captures the famous view down in to the hole, on an early frosty morning during the heather season when the moors come alive with colour.
I am an artist living near Malton, close to the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. I paint wildlife and local landscapes in oil and watercolour, and also accept commissions. I studied Art at Bolton University, specialising in Graphic and Fine Art. My aim is simple – to create an image of a moment in time, capturing a view which time will always change. By painting these views I strive to capture the image, so the view and feelings are never lost or forgotten. I try to achieve the recognisable whilst enriching the colours of Mother Nature. My love of running and cycling allows me to find the breath-taking views in the wonderful place where I live.
