Based in United Kingdom
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to paint and draw and it was no surprise to my family that I pursued and gained a qualification in fine art. This was a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Bretton Hall College, now the home of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, an inspiring and beautiful location situated in West Yorkshire. I was not to know at this time however that I would eventually end up living in North Yorkshire as my roots were very much on the other side of the Pennines having been born near Preston in Lancashire. Love and family brought me to the beautiful dales nearly thirty years ago and I have not regretted that move as I am blessed to live in one of the prettiest dales not far from the market town of Helmsley, an area of outstanding beauty. My career has included time in the classroom and more recently as an advisor for North Yorkshire but I am now retired from this role giving me time to devote to my hearts passion and pick up my brushes once more. I have had some recent success with a commission for five works of art which eventually found their way to the Middle East which was new for me and quite a challenge as they were very large canvases. I work with acrylics on canvas and like to use the edges as part of the composition. Many of the pieces I have done have featured birds and animals but I am equally at home with abstract forms and enjoy the challenge of a subject or topic a bit out of the norm. I am still at the stage of using home as my studio and it would be an ambition of mine to have a small space to develop as a workshop and hope any future sales will start me on this productive journey. I would welcome any requests for commissions or feedback on the work you have seen. Thank you for looking at my art work.
