A framed, original watercolour painting showing corn cobs still encased in their dry leaf sheaths, giant poppy seed heads and a couple of green leaf beetles. Painted loosely with a limited palette of warm colours, this painting is all about the textures and granulation effects achieved with my Daniel Smith paints, enhancing the intense detail. It is presented in an off white mount and a complimentary yew frame with gold sight edge to a total size of approximately 29 x 22 inches, ready to hang.
Hello and thank you for taking an interest in me and my work. I am a British artist and writer, working from my small studio on the Suffolk coast where I live with my long term partner Jenny and a selection of big dogs. It wasn't always so. Born in the fifties I left home at a young age and soon found myself serving as a British soldier. Since returning to Civvy Street I have led a varied and interesting life during which I worked in many diverse occupations from computer analyst to milkman, college tutor to lorry driver. Throughout it all there was always a thread of creativity running in the background, suppressed for long periods but occasionally opportunities did present themselves.
