This exhibition celebrates 84th birthday of one of the great living artists, Frank Auerbach. The exhibition features 70 paintings and drawings from throughout the artist’s career. The artworks are from private collections and they are rarely available for public display.

This is the first exhibition dedicated to portraits by the artist to mark the 50th anniversary of his death. The exhibition features over 60 paintings, drawings and sculptures produced between 1914 and 1966.

The Amazing World of MC Escher, Dulwich Picture Gallery, London, 14 Oct 2015 – 17 Jan 2016

The exhibition features over 100 works of the Dutch artist, including original drawings, prints, woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints.

The Artist and the Sea, City Art Centre, Edinburgh, 26 Sept 2015 – 8 May 2016

The exhibition features painting, drawing, print, photography and sculpture by artists inspired by the sea, such as John Bellany, William McTaggart, Joan Eardley and Elizabeth Ogilvie.

Beasts or Best Friends? Animals in Art, Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, Bournemouth, Dorset, 16 Oct 2015 – 13 March 2016

The exhibition explores how the dynamic between animal word and humankind has been depicted in art, featuring artworks by James Ward, Edwin Landseer and Lucy Kemp-Welch, as well as examples by local artists.
