An only child born 1942 in inner-city Nottingham Paul spent his childhood in a tiny terrace house with the toilet in the back yard and the bath hung on a nail by the back door. He loved drawing and painting, but art school or university was out of the question so he left school at age fourteen with the options of working down the Pit, Raleigh Cycle factory or a job in the Rag Trade. Paul chose the latter and in 1966 married Margaret and moved to his current home on the outskirts of Nottingham. Paul continued his artwork in his spare time until In 2007 aged sixty-five he retired and, helped by Margaret created a studio in their garden where he could paint pictures to sell on-line (and keep from under Margaret's feet). Over the years Paul has developed his own technique for creating unique abstract/expressionistic paintings.
