This was the first painting I worked on as artist in residence at Horatio's Garden in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Patients and with the visitors sat with me and chatted while I worked. One was a life long horse rider, and gave the painting its name. I love the colours which is a pleasant surprise as I rarely use yellows. This painting will be shipped to you unframed, safely wrapped in a glossy paper that is air, water and grease resistant, in between two foam core boards.
I was born in Glasgow and studied at both the Glasgow School of Art and Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London, graduating with an Honours Degree in 1990. I work in soft pastel, oil and acrylic and anything else that takes my fancy at the moment. I have had successful solo and joint exhibitions in London, Glasgow and at the Pittenweem Arts Festival and have commissioned work throughout the UK for private clients and companies, including Sun Microsystems and Butlins. Now living in Glasgow, I have lived in both Canada and South Korea and have worked for the Royal National Theatre in London and Edinburgh, and on the TV series, Outlander, in production for Starz - in the Breakdown and Dye department.
