Anastasiya Valiulina

Family is among our largest influences as children. Children often dream of becoming like their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and other family members. For Anastasiya Valiulina, her life’s biggest influence came from growing up in her grandfather’s studio. Art came alive for Anastasiya at a very young age. She was able to take the passion her grandfather showed her and reimagine it into her very own career.

Today, Anastasiya Valiulina is among Russia’s most captivating artists. Where some artists attempt to paint in stark realism, Anastasiya’s contemporary art style is a unique play on colour combinations and how they play with light. She paints in a way that speaks to the viewer. Instead of devoting paintings to dreams in which everything is perfect, her landscapes tend to capture the raw beauty of the images.

Not only does Anastasiya Valiulina capture raw nature scenes, but brings out the inner beauty and sometimes the inner sadness out stunningly in her human subjects as well. Anastasiya Valiulina is not new to the art scene, but is always working to reinvent and reimagine her personal style. She is an amazingly talented artist in all her works.

"I draw paintings on those subjects that excite me at the moment. So it could be a landscape or a portrait, still life or abstraction."

Jackie Smith

For a true artist, the joy of painting comes from within. Where the ultimate goal is to make money from their art work, that is not the driving force. However, when you do become discovered and have your art featured in high end galleries, you know you know you are on the right track. For Jackie Smith, the love of painting was always there, but in 2017, her first piece was presented on expedition in Menier Gallery.

Since then, each year, pieces from her growing collection have been used in galleries throughout UK with her most recent pieces featured this year in the London Lighthouse Gallery. Jackie Smith exhibits a varied artistic style from painting to sketches and prints. Emotions from the subjects she paints are presented beautifully and landscapes allow the viewer to feel as though they are right in the location. The realism in her paintings is something many artists strive for, but have difficulty achieving. Jackie Smith makes it look easy.
