Juliette graduated with a MA Fine Art Photography, following a BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting and a BA (Hons) Makeup, Hair and Prosthetics for Performing Arts. She has won and been shortlisted for various awards and exhibited in London and New York. Juliette combines her art with work as a make-up artist and tutor for television, film and commercial photography. This inside knowledge of the media has informed her art practice and given her a unique understanding of the dramatic physical and psychological transformations that can be produced through surface materials and artifice. The relationship between skin, paper and canvas as decorative surfaces and the shared physical qualities of cosmetics, painting, drawing materials and application techniques are explored to demonstrate the slippage and transferability of these materials. She uses painting and photography and her knowledge of the cosmetic and media industry to explore how the pressures of advertising imagery is impacting on feminine identity and beauty ideals.
