Based in United Kingdom
In 2011 I relocated to Ramsgate and felt inspired to start painting again after many years. I exhibited and sold my paintings in solo and joint exhibitions in Ramsgate, Margate, Whitstable and Canterbury. In London I also exhibited at the Brixton Urban Art open air gallery and also at The Menier.
Now living on the East Sussex coast.
My work isn’t about reality, it’s about a feeling. My mind holds the emotions I feel when viewing a seascape or vast sky. The smell, the noise, the wind, the warmth, the cold, are just as important as the visual. All this is held in my mind until I put paint to canvas. I try to capture the immensity and movement of the sea and sky. The weather, mood, colour and light are ever changing.
I paint in my small studio at home using acrylics, which are applied to the canvas using kitchen roll, sponges or cloth and water spray. My style is impressionistic and expressive. Some of my work can lean towards the abstract.
My intention moving forward is to continue to explore, learn, evolve, create and exhibit.
