Lidia Gajek(LG)

Lidia Gajek (LG) was born in Poland, in Lublin. After completing her philosophy studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology of UMCS in Lublin (1999), she specialised in graphic design of artistic nature. In 2017, she presented her artistic graphics at an individual exhibition at ACK UMCS Chatka Żaka – center of student culture in Lublin - the city where she currently lives and creates. After many years of creating computer graphics, she abandoned the computer in favor of oil painting. She paints images in large formats. Contact with matter: paint, color, brush and canvas seemed to her more sensual and magical at the same time. Her spirituality is close to the poetics, which she discovered in the works of Rene Magritte. She describes her own work in those words: "I like to think that in the world which we experience, there is room for multiple other realities that penetrate each other ... I believe in metaphysics. I believe that although as humans we often abandon it, it is still present in things that surround us, in objects, in silence, which remains behind hastily closed doors".
