Paul Chambers

Based in United Kingdom
An only child born 1942 in inner-city Nottingham Paul spent his childhood in a tiny back-to-back terrace house with no garden, no hot water, toilet in the back yard and the bath hung on a nail outside the back door. He loved drawing and painting and dreamed of being an artist one day. art college or university was out of the question, so leaving school at age fourteen with the options of working down the Pit, Raleigh Cycle factory or a job in the Rag Trade Paul chose the latter. It was while working as a knitting machine operator that he met Margaret, an overlock machinist. They married in 1966 and moved to a bungalow on the outskirts of Nottingham. Paul went on to have various jobs ending in thirty five years at a label printing company. In 2007 aged sixty-five he retired and, helped by Margaret converted an outhouse in their back garden into a studio where he could paint pictures (and keep from under Margaret's feet). The internet has provided the opportunity to exhibit his paintings to a wide audience. Over time Paul has developed his own technique for creating unique abstract/expressionistic paintings.
