This abstract artwork Blossom I is a mixed medium piece of art. The contemporary Lino prints are presented on an acrylic painted stretched canvas. Due to the unpredictability of the printing process each of these prints are unique. I then use ink pens to hand embellished each print before mounting onto the canvas. Through the repetition of the one print a strong botanical feel unfolds. The bright and bold colour palette of teal, black, white and grey makes it a real statement piece of art. This abstract artwork can be bought individually or alongside Blossom II and III. Katie has studied many different art forms during her time in education and beyond, from photography to sculpture and many disciplines in between. She also spent a number of years working at an art gallery which she feels was an invaluable experience and an education within itself. She enjoyed being introduced to new styles of work and fascinated to see how a person would be drawn to a particular piece of art, as well as how different two people’s interpretation of the same piece of art can be.
