About the artwork
Watercolour of the railway station on the edge of Dartmoor, which unfortunatly is no longer in use as a station, I believe it was one of the casualties of the Beecham decision to close a number of stations across the country to save money in the early sixties, it is now been converted into a private residence. I have tried to capture the scene as a working station with a little bit of artistic licence.
Hi my name is David Mather and I have been painting since I was at school, basically a self taught artist mainly painting in Oil and Watercolour in a loose impressionistic style. We live in Tavistock just on the edge of Dartmoor Devon in the UK, where a lot of my inspiration for my artwork comes from, including local Moorland scenes, and local coastal marine paintings.
