About the artwork

When I’m painting with wax, because of the characteristics of the material, I had to consider every stroke. First, I have to decide which colour I want to use and where I want to use it, because the wax dries quickly on the brush too, not just on the picture. Therefore, using acrylic is a meditative activity where I can follow my spontaneous ideas and go with the flow. This is how these abstract organic forms are born from my unconscious and my very strong and often dominant rational self gives meaning and lifts them from the total abstraction. The fish figure was inspired by the picture of Gerda Lipski. This work will be delivered with an invoice and a signed certificate of authenticity. Carefully packaged and tracked shipping. I ship this work in cardboard boxes careful wrapped in bubble foil and protect the painting with cardboard.

Dora Stork is an award-winning Hungarian painter whose art has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in Hungary and Romania. His work can also be found in many private collections in the United States, the European Union, and Japan. Dora is an abstract realistic encaustic artist: abstract in the world of color, realistic in the world of form, symbolist in meaning. As a politically minded painter, she is interested in public life as well as social and economic processes. She presents her particular vision in these works. The dreamlike compositions are her intuitive reflections on public issues. At the same time, seemingly astonishing, strange circumstances and inappropriate details on a rational sphere might evoke questions in the viewer... (see more)
