About the artwork
"If you can catch a hare and look into its eye you will see the whole world" (Anna Crowe). It's early morning in the field and the hare rests for a moment, watching and listening. A sensitively painted wildlife portrait using a combination of soft pastels and pastel pencils. The painting is supplied mounted between a snow white double conservation mount and backing board. The mount measures H:18.5" x W:15" with a 13.5" x 10” aperture. NOTE: The painting is unframed. The photo of the framed painting is for illustration purposes only.

Growing up in South West Cornwall, I learned to appreciate art from an early age, being exposed to the work of the Newlyn School and the numerous artists of St Ives and the surrounding area. Art was all around me and I never doubted that I could create art too. On leaving school I chose to study wildlife photography and illustration at Dyfed College of Art in Carmarthen. However, being young and free spirited, I dropped out of art college and thus, my formal art education ended. Despite following a completely different career path, my passion for art never waned.
